In summer 2024, we will be hosting the whole of Europe in Germany. Naturally, we will welcome our visitors - right in the heart of Europe. We want to make the journey pleasant and smooth - across borders.

Travelling to the Arena Stuttgart

Take the long-distance trains to Stuttgart main station and the regional trains/S-Bahn to Stuttgart-Bad Cannstatt (Arena Stuttgart, Entrance A and B) and the S-Bahn to Neckarpark station (Arena Stuttgart, Entrance C):

  • From Ulm: Take the RE5 to Esslingen(N), then the S1 in the direction of Schwabstraße/Herrenberg to Neckarpark or Bad Cannstatt.
  • From Singen/Freudenstadt: Take the IC or RE87, RE4, RE14 to Böblingen, then the S1 in the direction of Kirchheim(T) to Bad Cannstatt or Neckarpark.
  • From Mannheim/Karlsruhe: Take the ICE/IC connections in the direction of Stuttgart Hbf/Nürnberg Hbf/München Hbf to Stuttgart Hbf, then take the MEX lines 12, 13, 16 and 18 or the S-Bahn lines S1, S2 and S3 to Bad Cannstatt.
  • From Nuremberg: Take the IC line 61 Nuremberg - Karlsruhe via Aalen and Schwäbisch Gmünd to Stuttgart Hbf, or from Crailsheim/Schwäbisch-Hall Hessental take the RE90/MEX19/90 to Bad Cannstatt.

Please note when travelling to/from Stuttgart Hbf:
Long-distance and regional trains
depart from Stuttgart Hbf (upper) platforms 1-16. The S-Bahn trains depart from Stuttgart Hbf (below) tracks 101 and 102. When changing trains at Stuttgart Hbf, please allow for the walk (approx. 14 min) between the long-distance/regional and S-Bahn tracks.

DB asks passengers to check the current connections in the electronic timetable media (DB Navigator, DB Reiseauskunft) before starting their journey and to choose an earlier journey option if necessary.

Please allow sufficient time for your arrival and departure and check your connections before travelling.

Use the Lines: S1, S2 or S3 to Bad Cannstatt
Get off at the Bad Cannstatt stop

From Stuttgart Airport to the Stuttgart Arena (approx. 60 minutes)

From the station Flughafen/Messe (Airport/Trade fair)
Use the Lines: S2 or S3 direction Schorndorf or Backnang to Bad Cannstatt
or U6 in the direction of Feuerbach/Gerlingen to Stuttgart Hauptbahnhof, then take the U1 to Bad Cannstatt, Wilhelmsplatz
Walk to the stadium: approx. 25 minutes

Additional S-Bahn trains on match days in Stuttgart

During the European Football Championships, the Stuttgart S-Bahn will operate additional S-Bahn trains on behalf of the VRS during the matches in the Stuttgart Arena and extend the train formation to long trains:

      Schwabstraße direction Esslingen: every 15 minutes between 13:50 and 23:20

Following the games, the S-Bahn trains will run at hourly intervals throughout the night. The extension of the train service beyond the usual night service at weekends is financed by the Stuttgart Region Association. To this end, the deployment of S-Bahn assistants will also be increased to ensure that S-Bahn trains depart on time when passengers board.

DB Ticket Euro 2024DB is a national partner of the UEFA EURO 2024 in Germany. Holders of a ticket for the UEFA European Football Championship can book their rail journey to the match venue here for just 29.90 euros (2nd class). 

36-hour travelcard
Ticket holders for Stuttgart are entitled to a 36-hour travel card for the VVS (Verkehrs- und Tarifverbund Stuttgart) at no additional cost. This ticket is valid from 6 a.m. on the day of the match until 6 p.m. the following day. Perfect for discovering the highlights in the city and the Stuttgart region and experiencing its colourful supporting programme.

Ticket FAQ

From Stuttgart main station to Bad Cannstatt = Kurzstrecke (ticket for short distance)

One journey without changing trains or interrupting your journey: S-Bahn and local trains to the next stop, light rail/bus to the third stop after boarding, max. 5 km, not valid on night buses.

From Stuttgart main station to Neckarpark = Einzelticket / Einzeltagesticket (Single ticket / single day ticket)

It entitles the holder to one journey in the direction of the destination. Changing and interruptions to the journey are permitted - but not round trips and return journeys.

Please purchase a single day ticket for the outward and return journey!

Directions to the Stuttgart Arena and public viewing in the fan zones

In order to enjoy the anticipation of the match together with other fans without stress, we recommend that you find out how to get to the stadium in good time and allow sufficient time for your arrival and departure.


Public transport users can reach the Stuttgart-Bad Cannstatt and Stadtmitte stations on the S1, S2 and S3 S-Bahn lines. The S-Bahn trains run every 15 minutes from Monday to Friday from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m., and every 30 minutes thereafter. At night on weekends and before public holidays, trains run every hour.
